My Hero Academia announces Season 6

My Hero Academia is, of course, returning with Season 6 confirmed and readying up to tackle the Paranormal Liberation War arc.

To no one’s surprise, as My Hero Academia wraps up Season 5, they’ve already announced the existence of Season 6. This upcoming season will adapt the Paranormal Liberation War arc seen in Kōhei Horikoshi’s manga.

The last season saw a total of three arcs mashed into one 25-episode run. Those arcs being the Joint Training, Internship at Endeavor’s Agency, and Villain Academia. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation have their own respective parts in streaming the previous seasons, with Funi streaming both the subtitled season and an English dub while Crunchyroll stays in its lane streaming exclusively the subbed season.

Adult Swim’s Toonami block also had a hand by streaming the season to a western audience on May 8 after Japan started getting it syndicated in late March.

My Hero Academia started akin to other anime series testing the interest with a 13-episode run back in 2016. A second season then released with 25 episodes and that’s been the golden standard for the shonen action anime series ever since.
