HIDIVE apologizes for Texas storm meme

Texas-based anime streaming service, HIDIVE, has apologized for the perception that a meme they put out on Twitter was meant to belittle the Texas storm situation.

On Thursday, the streamer tweeted out a meme centered around the storm using a screenshot of Akame ga KILL! as its source. Many Texans felt the meme was downplaying the situation and as of Friday, the official HIDIVE account apologized and assured its followers that it was not meant to belittle the situation.

They also took the time to remind people that they’re based in Texas and experienced it first-hand and knew the damage it caused.

While some felt this wasn’t enough and labeled the apology as half-a**ed, other fans didn’t really care and felt they shouldn’t have apologized in the first place for what was clearly a meme.
